The Landmark Community Church family consists of people from diverse backgrounds who come together, at 10:00 A.M. on Sundays, to serve each other and hear the Bible unpacked. As we follow the uncomplicated discipleship principles of Jesus, He makes us whole in every sense
so that we may join Him in bringing spiritual, social and political change to our world.. The Bible, The Constitution, and personal responsibility are the tools we employ to educate ourselves and others to support Faith, Family, and Freedom.
Passionate, reviving, and genuine, describe the heart from which Scott speaks and ministers. In 35 years of ministry he served as a pastor, worship leader, speaker, and recording artist. Scott occupied the pulpit of Kumulani Chapel in Maui, Hawaii for 11 years before coming to Rapid City.
Scott is the Pastor of Landmark Community Church. His teaching broadcast ministry, “Lighting the Way”, and his faith and political commentary can be heard on the east coast through Newcomb Broadcasting out of Washington D.C., on YouTube, and in our broadcast archives. He served two terms in the South Dakota House of Representatives, is the Chairman of the Family Research Council's South Dakota Watchmen Pastor's Network, former Chair of the Board of Directors for the Family Heritage Alliance, is a member of the board of World Mission Outreach, and the West River Human Trafficking Task Force.
He earned a Bachelor's in Theology from Azusa Pacific University and a Master's in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. Scott also holds the title of Grand Master (7th degree black belt) in the Korean Martial Art of Taekwondo, and has seen many come to Christ through evangelistic martial art programs.

Pastor Walter Rasmussen is the Assistant Pastor at Landmark Community Church. He served as the Pastor of Newell Community Baptist Church in South Dakota five years before joining the Landmark family. He is a Patriot Pastor which makes him a perfect fit to work alongside Pastor Scott.
Pastor Walter is a father of four children who all love the Lord. He loves teaching the Word of God, and loves God’s people. Pastor Walter has extensive experience in helping people get free from addictions of all types.
Walter and Cheryl are a powerful partnership in the Gospel. They love deeply, and are here to extend the love, grace, and hope of Jesus to you. Together, they teach our marriage ministry course. Cheryl lost a husband to divorce and a second to a fatal car crash. Walter also experienced a divorce, but the Lord introduced him to Cheryl, and together they are a resource for you who wish to fortify your marriages in the council of the Word and presence of the Spirit.
